The Real ART of Running

You Won’t Melt

I’ve heard many people say “I couldn’t run this weekend, it was raining.”  What’s rain have to do with it?  When you run in the summer you sweat and get wet.  When it rains you get wet.  Either way you get wet.

This morning when I started out for an 11 mile easy Saturday run there was a very light rain.  For the first couple miles it stayed light then stopped.  Until about mile six, then it poured for about five minutes.  But by then I was soaked more from the humidity than the light rain.  So the downpour was actually sort of fun.  I could not get much wetter.  After the downpour, the sun came out but with the humidity there was no drying out.

So 11 miles later I was soaked but felt great and I didn’t melt.
