The Real ART of Running

Sunday is Race Day!

Anxious and excited.  That’s the feeling this week for thousands of runners as they wait for Sunday and the Detroit Free Press Marathon.  The months of training, the miles and miles and hours and hours of running will soon pay off.  The last week or so of lower mileage has been tough and as the day get closer you ask yourself “Did I train enough?” or “Am I really ready?”

Well, it’s too late to change that now.  Trust yourself and the plan you followed.  One piece of advice I’ve heard many world-class runners say is “relax”.  If you are tense and nervous at the start you can’t run your best.  You relax when you train so relax when you race.  Run and have fun!  I plan to!
