Run Wild For The Animals

Last week was I ran a 10k called “Run Wild for the Detroit Zoo“.  It seemed that whenever I mentioned to someone that I ran the Zoo run almost everyone asked if it was fun running through the zoo with all the animals. Unfortunately, the run is around the zoo as in – on the streets that surround the outside of the zoo.  Yes, the race proceeds benefit the zoo and your race entry fee does include admission after the race but the race doesn’t go inside.  Something about scaring the animals, I guess.  So while I ran a good time (48:30), and enjoyed running through the streets of Huntington Woods, the “Zoo run” is not as exciting  as it sounds.
